Why Do People Need Faith In God Theology Religion Essay

Why Do People Need Faith In God Theology Religion Essay We have known about God since a very long time. We know that in Islam God name is Allah, Hinduism has many Gods and some of them are Ganesh, Vishnu and Brahma, in Hebrew God name is Yahweh, in Christianity God name is Jehovah, Chineses NGod is Yang Yin, one of Greeks Gods is Zeus and so on. We all know it, but we dont know why in different religions God has different names and why some religions have many Gods. May be we never think about it. So my research question is why in different religions God has different names and why some religions have many Gods. In this essay I try to find out answer to these questions. In the Christian Religion, there is only One God, who is a Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus was Jew hence He believed and worshipped the only true God Jehovah and always tried to please Him he prayed to Him and loved Him John 17:3 states this means everlasting life the taking in knowledge of YOU (prayer to Jehovah by Jesus) and the One you sent forth (Jesus) He never referred to Himself as God He never said the Holy Spirit was God. You see taking in knowledge of Jesus does not make Him God, but faith in Him is requirement for life. God cannot die but Jesus died for our sins and if we do not respect Jesus new role as Messiah we cannot gain life everlasting. Jehovah is God; Jesus is the son of God as stated in scripture.  [1]   In the Jewish Religion, there is only one God, HaShem (The Name). In deference to Judaism, God is the correct spelling.  [2]   In the Islamic Religion, there is only one God, Allah, and Muhammed is his prophet. Allah has no intermediaries, no spouse, no children, and thus, Allah is ONE. In the Sikh Religion, there is only One, Hari; who has many names and many forms.  [3]   In the Buddhist Religion, there are many Buddhas, but not all buddhists are deists or worshippers of Idols of Buddha. The first Buddha to attain enlightenment is Gautama Buddha, who is worshipped as a God in some strands of Buddhism. The Dalai Llama, for example comes from Tibetan Buddhism, which has deities. Buddha was a Hindu, so he would have been familiar with the Hindu deities.  [4]   In the Hindu Religion, there is one Formless God and a trimurti of Creator, Preserver and Destroyer Gods. There are many other gods and consorts. In the Parsee Religion, Zoroastrianism, there is Ormazd, sometimes called Ahura Mazda or simply Mazda, the most well-known of their Gods.  [5]   There were other deities. In Confucianism, there is Tien (Heaven). Also known as Shang Di(The Lord on High). Ancestors are also worshipped. Taoism has numerous deities. Shinto has numerous deities. Jainism has numerous deites. Africans didnt have a religion, they had Spirituality from which ALL religions began, had Gods such as Isis, Horus, Heru, Ausar,Osirus; Mayan religion has many deities, Ancient Greek and Roman religions all had myths for example Yesus, Thor, Zeus, Mercury. The American Indians had their deities, and the Australian Aboriginals had their Gods and the Dreamtime. There were Norse Gods, Scandinavian Gods, Celtic Gods, Druidic Gods, along with nature religions also. Where ever there is mankind, there you will find worshippers of the Divine.  [6]   So, from this text I understand that many religions have just one God. But in some religions people believe that we more Gods and that there have certain destination. But why, maybe people were easier to believe in something, such as a God to explain different phenomena, phenomena of life or explain some occurring moments in the life of mankind. However, why just this names? Firstly, we need to know what the name is. In the ancient world names were thought to be extremely powerful and to act, in some ways, as a separate manifestation of a person or deity.  [7]  Well, I think that God hasnt particular name, so people named God like that, because they were based on their imagines about him. For example, Muslims, adherents of Islam named God Allah, because it is an Arabic word meaning The God. Greeks imagined that Zeus is the Father of Gods; he is the god of sky and thunder in Greek mythology, so for Greek people Zeus is the main God, because sky is impersonation of world. But why we, people need faith in God? Faith is our motivation to fulfill our purpose. Faith and work are dependent upon one another for existence. Theyre like energy and matter, Yin and yang, opposites, but complements. Without faith its impossible to please God  [8]  , so our relationship with the Lord is dependent on it. Faith is what brings the things God has provided for us from the spiritual realm into the physical realm  [9]  . Our faith is the victory that enables us to overcome the world  [10]  . Everything the Lord does for us is accessed through faith. Human faith can only believe what it can see, taste, hear, smell, or feel; its limited to the five senses. Using natural human faith, we can sit in a chair weve never sat in and believe it will hold us up. We fly in airplanes when we dont fully understand how they work, and we dont know the pilot, but we trust that everything will be okay. That takes human faith, which God gave to every person. Yet when it comes to God, we have to believe things that we cannot see. You havent seen God or the devil. You havent seen heaven or hell. You havent seen sin; therefore, you wouldnt know what you would look like if your sins were taken awa y. However, you have to believe in all these things to be born again. How can you believe in things you cant see? The answer is that you cant believe in invisible things with human faith. You need Gods supernatural faith.  [11]   Sometimes when a person is bad, when he lost everything, he has only faith, belief in something good. We have a lot of good thoughts to believe, but the best of them is the thought of God. In some situations, only faith in God can help keep the kindness, confidence in our heart and move on. In concluded, why in some religions have many Gods? I think in some religions people cant prove or cant explain some phenomenon in life, in nature, so, their think that it all happens because of Gods. For example, if the sky shines for lightning, that gods were angry at someone or at something or if the sun shines brightly, it means that the gods have good mood and they were shone by pleasure because of their eternal, divine life. So people explain all this phenomena. Fine, I have answer for this question, but I didnt answer the question, why in different religions God has different names? I think because different people have a different worldview, so there have different beliefs to God, and there have different religions. If people have similar worldview, similar beliefs and have different religion I think it is wrong, because if all there thinks are similar, they dont need different religions, and they can be one extended religion. I think people need to believe to different Gods names, because they need to prove that their thoughts are different from other. So, I think exactly because of that in different religions God has different names.

Comparative Analysis Literary Works Essay

Did you know that many books, poems, and other literary works, sometime share some similarities or same point of views on a topic? Well, these similarities can be anything from the same setting, same characters, etc, and sometime they may have similarities in their conflicts. Like in the play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare and in the story, â€Å"The Coldest Winter Since 1854† by William Saroyan. Both of these literary works had many similarities but one major similarity is in their conflicts, but what are their major conflicts in both of these works and how are both of these conflicts similar? Well you are just about to find out. In the story, â€Å"The Coldest Winter Since 1854† our main character, Dewey, a young boy who is in school, share his love to another young girl named Emma, by giving her a love letter. Soon the teacher finds out about this â€Å"love letter† and sent him to the office. He later spends a whole day with the principal as his punishment, but what is the conflict? Well later, the principal, Mr. Bowler, ask Dewey to stop being in love with Emma, why? Well it’s because of his social stats. You see, Dewey is just â€Å"a poor man’s son and Emma is a rich man’s daughter† so they’re not fit to be together, which Dewey is force to accept this fact, but Dewey may still continue to love her. In A Midsummer’s Night Dream, the story is a little different. In this plot, taking place along time ago in the city of Athens, one of the characters named Lysander, a young man, is in love with a young woman named Hermia, and Hermia is in love Lysander as well. So what’s the problem? Well Hermia’s father, Egeus is the problem. Egeus doesn’t want her daughter, Hermia, to marry Lysander, instead, he want her to marry Demetrius. Demetrius is another young man that Hermia’s best friend, Helena is in love with. But can Egeus make Hermia marry Demetrius? Well under the law of Athens, he can. The law said that a daughter must follow what her father said; otherwise she is put to death. So Hermia and Lysander decided to run away together to another city, where the laws are different and get marry there. Which later, Helena tells Demetrius about their plan. Soon later, most of characters are in magical forest, late at night, where it starts to go downhill fr om there. Now that you know part of these works, and their main conflict, you may be wondering, how can these conflicts be any similar? Well if you readied carefully, you may had noticed their similarities. In both stories, there is a love connection between two characters. In â€Å"The Coldest Winter Since 1854†, it’s between Dewey and Emma, and in A Midsummer’s Night Dream, it’s between Lysander and Hermia, and later in the plot, it’s also between Demetrius and Helena. Another similarity is that in both stories, is that the guy can not be with the girl he like, because of an issue that preventing them to be together. In â€Å"The Coldest Winter Since 1854†, Dewey can not be with Emma because of his social stats; he is the son of a poor man, while Emma is the daughter of a rich man, and them being together would cause huge trouble for him and her. While in A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Lysander can’t be with Hermia because of Hermia’s father, Egeus. Egeus is forcing Hermia to marry Demetrius instead of Lysander, and under the law of Athens, he can that. So now you should be able to notice the similarities between the two stories, but if you still can’t, another good example would be from another book called Jake Reinvented. In this book, Jake, the main character of the book, can not date an popular girl he like, because of his social stats, so he moved and goes to this new school, where the girl he likes, goes there too, and pretends to be a popular guy, by doing stuff like being on the football team, hanging out with the popular crowd and throw huge parties. So as you see, these literary works, both had many similarities, one of them being in their similar conflicts, and these are not the only stories that share similarities between two different stories. There are a huge list of stories, poems, novels, and even in songs, movies and so many more. Who know how many similarities there could be. So why not try for yourself, and see if any stories, share any similarities between each other like these two stories did.

The Nature and Causes of Racism - Free Essay Example

Sample details Pages: 7 Words: 2163 Downloads: 6 Date added: 2019/02/05 Category Society Essay Level High school Tags: Racism Essay Did you like this example? Why is there such hate when it comes to the way a person believes in other people’s race? We all know that not everyone likes every race and sometimes show it in a negative way by taking actions. There are times when people go too far in things they do when it comes to being racist and it can cause stress towards victims of these kinds of circumstances. Most normal human being has been taught since an early age to be respectful to all people no matter who the person is, so one should not talk bad about anyone. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "The Nature and Causes of Racism" essay for you Create order Throughout life, most people have seen and heard people being discriminated this is not something new this is something that continues in society. Even Though, racism is something powerful there should be solutions to solve this problem to prevent it from causing harm to the victims. Once while attending high school I used to take the district school bus and there was a girl in it who also attended the same school, but in times when she was furious, she was racist towards the Mexicans. Unfortunately, I did not know the reason for it, but once she said, â€Å"why do Mexicans live in the ghetto?† This is an offensive term and it was very uncomfortable to be around this girl, but I had to take the bus five days out of the week. Now I discuss this from personal experience another moment of my life I was too shy to be inside stores because of my difficulty in speaking the English language in the right form it was an embarrassment to have to do, but it’s necessary in order to get things done. Have you ever gone to wonder how life would’ve been any different if racism didnt exist since the early time period? In the book Sula by Toni Morrison, it had some offensive terms, where she should not have put it because her words may make people feel bad. Morrison states, â€Å"The nigger got the hilly land, where planting was backbreaking†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (5). As one can see how this is completely inappropriate to be in a book or anywhere where people can see it. Imagine being offended for what family beliefs in and imagine how would a whole family feel if they saw something that can hurt all of their feelings? If every human on this planet saw the all humans from different heritage are equal then it would have a more peaceful life to live. Sadly, there may be many other books where they say words that can be harsh towards one specific race just like it said it in the Sula book. The majority of the people on Earth should agree not to show signs of racism well if one thinks they should not say or do anything that can discriminate a race especially the African Americans. However, there have been many racist people who have just gone so far that it puts people at risk. Despite not knowing how racism came to be it’s a curiosity about how it’s started? Therefore, it’s something that it’s no longer new since it’s been going around for centuries, what it is hard to understand is how people do not get tired of being jerks and just getting along with one another because deep inside each race is a human they have hearts, brains, feeling, and a family, just like many people. But not everyone sees it like that there are people who think it’s legal to hurt who they despise. In the article, â€Å"Racism in America† by George Salis explains the anger people showed and it was not decades and decades ago, but recently and it could make one believe how terrifying some people can really be. For instance, in the article, it states, â€Å"Dylann Roof walked into Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church, a historic black church in C harleston S.C., and killed nine people and wounded three others. His friends said he wanted to start a race war†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (Salis). In addition, every person makes their own decisions and sometimes it cannot prevent harm from happening because of people decisions. Furthermore, this proves how racism can create evil that can lead to something beyond serious, this our reasons why all race should get along to prevent this kind of anger. Another personal experience of mine was my senior year of high school there was an African American student who was one of my classmates once while in lunch a white kid comes up and says to him â€Å"you ni*** all look the same.† I stayed speechless and thought how can someone say such a thing like that, that phrase is something disrespectful and rude. This just proves how racism can get more and more serious people to act out in different matters, but most just take it really far, on how they react towards their victims. The word racism is something strong that can be known by everyone at an early age. Moreover, those who are â€Å"high class† and learn racism from mentors such as their family members then they tease others so maybe one raised this way and it’s pass down. Although there can be others that just learn this kind of behaviors such as their peers and may think it’s entertaining so that may also be how some turn out to be racist. In other words, some people may find it fun to tease those who look different from their heritage, but what most do not see is that not one single race is perfect. Also, when saying a hurtful racist word towards one individual is not just referring to that one person, but the whole race and that can just cause pain towards the people. In the article, â€Å"Racism and Mental Health: Are Schools Hostile Learning Environments for Students of Color?† by Amy Masko who explains how the racism can first come to be known for people and how it can really affect them the people who are victimized by racism. For instance, in the article it says, â€Å" racism that many children and youth of color face in their schooling is an environmental stressor that can lead to depression, anxiety, rage, and other mental di stress†(Masko 62). In addition, one word can really hurt people sometimes in can even scar them for a long period and that can even change their lives. Being young most kids do not see the bad things in each other sometimes they dont even get taught and can be an issue while growing up because one may never know why racism is a bad thing. Moreover, why should racism still continue if one knows that every race is always going to be around they can not be avoided and just because one specific race does not like another race then deal with it because the more people like one another the more satisfied life would be. When will it be a complete end against people who are racist? Therefore, when asked by anyone there is no real responses because it does continue on. In the article, â€Å"Is American Repeating the Mistakes of 1968?† author, Julian E. Zelizer brings up the history on how horrible it must have been, but refers what goes on in the present moment. As one can see how society is living in the past and if this continues how will that affect the future? Will there ever be a solution? For example in the article, Zelizer writes, â€Å"In July 1967, during the aftermath of the devastating race riots in Detroit, Michigan, and Newark, New Jersey- each of which started after incidents of police brutality against African Americans.† Now if one takes a moment to look back and witness the horrific that a race suffered and those who are not victims imagine living a life where half of the daily lives are targeted from always being for having a different skin color and not being able to pass around through the city calmly that must be irritating to do the daily task. Although not every race will always get along and sometimes itâ€℠¢s not the race the reason why they do not get along sometimes it could be because how a person acts. Even though if one is unique by being strange with someone else finds that uncomfortable, and they don’t like that one person the other person they do not need to say racial words. Also, when a person does anything bad it doesn’t prove that their whole people are the same way. Next, if people focus on the history that went on, but at the same time see the present and notice how from each race there are those who achieved the good life has to offer and have proven with a successful career that shows how people do not give up. This just proves that every race has it’s good and bad people, but everyone is different. Finally, there may be one day when racism could finish it’s possible because all people may find the right solution to this problem. There should not be any physical attack against any person and especially because one looks different it should be resolved. In the article â€Å"Police Brutality and Black Health: Setting the Agenda for Public Health Scholars† author Sirry Alang concentrates on the blacks who just have bad luck with the law enforcement they are so much hate towards them it may have to do with the color of their skin. But it just goes down many times that it does not stop. The author goes on explaining the way b lacks are just targeted in wrong reasons and how society does not do anything because it just goes on and on. He still goes down into details on how the blacks have many obstacles in their lives and the comparison with other race. Also, he talks about society has a big impact on this race that makes it difficult for them to do what they need to get a thing done. Although this race is humans sometimes they just do not get treated that way and every other race should have empathy and think how they would feel. Not one person on Earth deserves to be treated like if they were animals. For instance, Alang writes, â€Å"Blacks are significantly more likely to experience police brutality than are Whites, and whiteness affords protection against police use of force†(662). This proves right here how there are issues that are not fair there are ones who get treated worse and others who get treated better. Although no one is perfect and everyone feels weak at one point there needs to be a kindness to help make everyone come together. Overall, there have been many horrible events that took place in America. While the time passes if racism does not continue then maybe life will be back to normal. In addition, if there are changes maybe all Americans might get along and that can prevent from violence occurring. Also, every race goes through some tough time just like stress, pain, feeling sick, and working hard to earn money. If all humans show signs of peacefulness and no longer being rude or disrespectful with one another instead have manners it can be a relief bec ause this can end fights, arrests, and even deaths. Although everyone is not the same that does not mean that it’s okay to be racist and many have families to prove that. Nevertheless, the law can convert were racism was no longer allowed if anyone disobeyed that then that person has to be disciplined and that can help out victims by making their lives simpler. Meanwhile, having solutions on those who have what it takes in order to make it big to get good benefits because everyone has a purpose and a dream to accomplish. So there needs to be an understatement on all race because all do not think same and some do crimes, but they should be treated fairly. Also, if all the history was forgotten that can be a solution right there because step by step it can end racism for good. Although no one was born to always get along with everyone, by just showing manners or not talking to the people they do not like it makes things much better. In addition, I am a Hispanic and I have been victimized by racist individuals because of my accent and my family not having a lot of money. So, I would really like to see a change in order for more people and their families do not go through the same thing I did. In conclusion, the positive with racism being extinct that will not only help society but the future children as well and grandchildren generations will learn the right way of how to treat each human that looks different from their families.

The Importance Of A Successful Writers On The Writing...

In the book Engaging in the Language Arts, it discusses the steps in the writing process that enable individuals to become successful writers. The steps addressed throughout the writing process are prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing (p. 365). Individuals use these steps to help create, manage, and bring to life their piece of work. However, research suggests that these steps are demonstrated in a particular order during the writing process; many writers tend to â€Å"move across and back and forth† during the writing process (p. 365). The first step discussed is prewriting. Prewriting is the â€Å"initial effort† when approaching a topic (p. 365). This step allows the writer to brainstorm, plan, and organize the information. Some strategies that writers utilize to demonstrate prewriting are art, free-writing, and graphic organizers. Next, the writer takes part in the drafting process. The drafting process takes place when writers are allowed adequat e time to â€Å"incubate† and â€Å"offer support† as needed. This time should be used to â€Å"offer comments or questions† to help the writer â€Å"get back on track† (p. 376). The third step in the writing process is revision. The purpose of revising the piece of work is intended for the writer to â€Å"reexamine or reevaluate† their beginning draft and address areas such as purpose, content, and audience (p. 376). Although this is seen as the hardest step, it is the most critical process. This step allows the writer to view theirShow MoreRelatedTaking On The Right Path1358 Words   |  6 Pagesgrow as writers and change the necessary details to improve their writing skills and adapt to the changing atmosphere from high school to college.
